The Employment Assistant plans, leads, organizes, and controls all aspects associated with the sourcing, screening, placement, and onboarding of Assemblers and Machine Operators in a timely manner as required by the Production Department.   

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local professional, educational, civic, social, and government organizations to provide qualified sources of talent.
  • Utilize company website, various on-line job boards, newspapers, and social media to advertise openings.
  • Phone screen, interview and utilize all appropriate assessment tools to qualify Assembler and Machine Operator candidates for participation in orientation.
  • Coordinate the orientation schedule for all instructors, participants, tour guides, and vendors to ensure availability, record attendance and provide for all needed resources including room availability, handouts, name tents, and attendance gifts.
  • Ensure that there is an adequate labor pool available to meet the just in time staffing requirements of the Production Department.
  • Administer background checks, drug testing and E-Verify for all domestic new hires
  • Verify that all pre-employment paperwork is accurate and complete at the time of hire.
  • Participate in exit interviews, unemployment compensation hearings, social media committee meetings and various wellness events.
  • Administer the Employee Referral Program.
  • Process all verification of employment requests.
  • Provide Company kiosk user training and support as necessary.
  • Administer the internal job posting procedure and inform immediate supervisor of selected candidates.
  • Participates in job fairs sponsored by SC Works and local elementary, middle schools and high schools.
  • Participate on the RASCO REVIEW newsletter committee and provide content suggestions and articles through employee interviews and research.
  • Engage in continuous learning through attendance at local SHRM meetings, webinars, local seminars, and professional publications.
  • Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor
  • Performs other duties as directed

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or Sociology or other related field of study.
  • 0-3 years of experience working in an office environment
